Brooke Savage
Producer Profile
I've learned a lot from working in news for 9+ years...
I love being innovative, being a leader, and making the tough decisions. When putting together content, whether it be through a podcast, a newsletter, on TV, on the web, or through social media, I ask these questions: what is the best way I can inform the public? Or how can I make our audience connect to our stories? How can I grab their attention? When I answer these questions, and put my creativity into play, it's really rewarding.
I'm a producer, writer, AND a journalist...
It's my job to pay attention to the details, confirm information, tell both sides of the story and tell it the best way I can, and make sure the information is accurate. I also love pitching stories, finding interviews, and then seeing those stories come to fruition. Some of my story pitches have led to a crosswalk being installed at an intersection where a boy was hit on a bike, a woman speaking out about how she got an accused child molester arrested, and results for a neighborhood that was getting flooded from construction. It means a lot to me to be able to make a difference.
Writing has always been a passion of mine....
In elementary school, I wrote the morning announcements, and anchored live two years in a row. In middle school, I started writing poems and songs. In high school, I took classes like television news and newspaper. In college, I worked on two radio shows, a newscast, I was Vice President of RTDNA, and I had two internships in a top news market. As a multimedia producer, I've done almost every show you can think of and I've worked on several projects at the same time. I consistently write for an award-winning website, host interviews with actors, celebrities, and artists, produce a podcast, and I put together a newsletter. I welcome new challenges and look at them as opportunities. I'm so impressed with what I've been able to take on and I can't wait to grow even more.
